Chicago Natural Hair Meet and Greet Pics and Video

This past Saturday I, along with youtubers MsVaughn and MeechyMonroe held a Natural Hair Meet and Greet at the Border's on 95th Street in Chicago. I just love love love meet n greets and meet ups, so imagine my excitment when I got an email today for another event this Saturday. It is in Chicago but I don't mind traveling again so soon because I will be there in a vendor capacity. In the meantime, check out the pics and video from the event. Ohmmmm..... My Ankhs

I have this theory about ankhs. I like to "armor" myself with them, so to speak, so as to keep myself loaded with energy at all times. Now, just how can so ornament effect one's energy?If you didn't know, at one point long ago ankhs were tools used to conduct electricity, or, energy. The top of the ankh is in the shape of an ohm, or for those of you familiar with the Greek alphabet, Omega. Today we are familiar with ohms in terms of measuring energy. We also like to comedically associate the sound "ohm" with new age yoga folk. However, yoga is all about moving ones energy from the core to radiate throughout the body so as to cause a feeling of alert and refreshed. Thus, ohms refer to energy and the ankh is an ohm with a handle at the bottom so that one can manipulate the energy created as needed. The shape of the ankh helps you get a grip of the energy producer literally and for me, figuratively. I wear a silver ankh charm around my neck almost religiously. I have a large wood ankh necklace for a larger reminder on days when I know I'll need it. I've my ankh earrings and my good wood ankh I won from a contest Erykah Badu held. There were only 20 made and I won one. My favorite ankh is on my back, ensuring I'll never be without it. It's centered in the center of a red black and green Africa representing my ideologies that I am glad to carry on my back.
